Religious Belief of Gosaikunda:
The Gosaikunda area is an important strict destination in Nepal. According to Hindu tradition, Gosaikunda is the residence of Hindu gods Ruler Shiva and Gauri. There is a mention to Samudra Manthan in a few Hindu sacred writings like as Bhagwat Puran, Vishnu Puran, and the legends Ramayan and Mahabharat, which is directly related to the birth of Gosaikunda.
The lake’s water is considered divine and is especially significant during the Janai Purnima holiday. During Janai Purnima, a large number of visitors from Nepal and India visit the sanctuary.
Gosaikunda is said to have been constructed by Lord Shiva, who is said to have pierced the mountain with his holy trident to draw water out of it for his hurting throat after ingesting poison.
Villages having a distinct tradition and Heritage
Visitors will pass through a number of villages on the route to Gosaikunda, each with its own unique culture and customs. There are communities where Tamanag and Sherpas live that have Tibetan influences on their way of life. You will learn about the culture of these people who have been living in this way without access to modern comforts for generations.
